Out of Phase Waves

    In p. 122 in section 5.5, the last sentence of the page says, “Two waves that have the same wavelength but travel different distances to arrive at the same point will be out of phase unless that distance is some multiple of the wavelength.” I don’t quite understand the definition of out of phase waves here. Can you explain this sentence to me?
